The Scots are famed for their hospitality, and rightly so. Highland hospitality is especially warm and generous, and conjures up images of log fires, comfortable and relaxed surroundings, and hearty meals.

Dining in Scotland, as with the rest of Britain, has changed immeasurably in the past twenty years. Today's fare is frequently a showcase for superb, locally-sourced fresh produce - especially Scotland's fish and seafood, its game, venison and, of course, its world-famous Aberdeen Angus beef.

| Ashtree House Hotel
We have used Ashtree House Hotel for several years. It is a competent family-run small hotel, excellently placed for Glasgow Airport.
| Crinan Hotel
We had dined at Crinan a couple of times over the years, but only in 2015 did we start using it for our accommodation. It is a wonderful establishment, in an unequalled location, with stunning views, excellent food, warm and hospitable staff - and ever so quirky, in the nicest possible way!
| The Creggans Inn
We have stayed at The Creggans Inn since 2014 and, in common with other good-quality Scottish hotels, it is very comfortable, has stunning views, a very good kitchen, and charming staff.
| The Waterfront Fishouse, Oban
Shockingly fresh fish, much of it landed at its doorstep.
| Kilberry Inn
Some of the finest cooking in Scotland.
| Loch Fyne Restaurant & Oyster Bar
World-famous oyster bar living up to its expectations.
